I have run the 'SetupDiag.exe' on the system and it seems to indicate that Windows Media Center is the reason for the failure.
Something fails and it rolls back to windows 7. It prepares to install windows 10 and keep my apps and settings and then reboots to continue the installation. I run setup and it says Windows Media Center is not compatible/available in windows 10 which I confirm and continue the installer. I used the windows media creation tool to download windows 10 to an ISO file on the computer which I then extracted. I have been attempting to do an in place upgrade of windows 7 professional to windows 10 for the last few weeks and can't get it to work.
